ExecuJet supports customers during the WEF

execuExecuJet Aviation Group’s fixed-based operation (FBO) at Zürich Airport, Switzerland, is celebrating a busy period of aircraft handling during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting at Davos-Klosters.

ExecuJet handled over 150 aircraft bringing VIP passengers to the event, held on January 22-25, including a high proportion of long-range business jets.

To facilitate additional aircraft parking requirements during the WEF, ExecuJet once again secured an exclusive agreement with Dübendorf Airport (LSMD), a military facility located 5nm north of Zürich airport.

The WEF Annual Meeting is a premier international conference devoted to advancing international cooperation on political and socio-economic issues. This year, more than 2,500 delegates from around the world gathered in Davos.

Basil Gamper, ExecuJet’s Zürich FBO Manager, says: “The WEF is always our busiest time of the year in Zürich and 2014 was no exception.  We handled a record number of flights for visiting VIPs from all over the world, including several European and international heads of state. All passengers were handled through ExecuJet’s Zürich FBO and our agreement with Dübendorf enabled us to park an additional 40 aircraft at any one time. I’m delighted ExecuJet’s business aviation clients were able to arrive and depart with ease whilst appreciating the discretion, privacy, friendliness and convenience of the two airports working in partnership.”

Nicole Gut, ExecuJet’s Director of European FBOs, added: “The ExecuJet personnel in Zürich were well prepared for the extra business and pulled together as a dedicated team. The improving economic climate appears to have led to an increase in attendance at this year’s WEF, providing many industry leaders and a record number of politicians with the opportunity to discuss the challenges ahead.”

In addition to handling increased aircraft movements during this period, ExecuJet clients required an increased volume of fuel, which was provided by ExecuJet’s on-site fuelling services.
