International Business Aviation Exhibition Jet Expo-2014 was held on September 4-6 in Moscow Vnukovo Airport. Jet Expo is one of the most important annual events in the sphere of business aviation in Russia and CIS countries, which gives a unique chance to meet representatives of the industry on a single platform to discuss the future development and new contracts. From year to year the leading companies of business aviation industry, from aircraft manufacturers to service companies, confirm their participation in this exhibition.
Business aviation is one of the fastest growing and most promising sectors of the Russian market. Business Aviation Exhibition Jet Expo not only enhances the prestige of the Russian Federation on the world stage, but also opens up new horizons for foreign companies on the Russian market. Traditionally, the exhibition was attended by the world’s leading companies for the production of aircraft and maintenance of business aviation. On the static display visitors could see more than 40 business jets and helicopters.
For the first time Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft in business jet configuration manufactured by “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” was presented at the exhibition. The aircraft is designed on the basis of technical modification of SSJ100 basic platform and it is the first stage in the project of the first business aircraft Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ). The cost of one aircraft is about $ 50 million. The manufacturer claims that comfort is not inferior to competitors from Boeing and Airbus.
Also for the first time a company “Heliport Moscow” participated at Jet Expo. This company is a leader in helicopter business due to its own fleet of new helicopters and impressive MRO facilities. Helicopter taxi service is quite a new thing in Moscow, but interest to this sector, has increased significantly, especially taking into account the situation with traffic jams.
