In the winter season LOT Polish Airlines plans to increase weekly flight frequency on 18 European routes: Amsterdam, Brussels, Munich, Vilnius – from 19 to 20; Belgrade – from 3 to 4; Budapest – from 18 to 24; Bucharest – from 12 to 20; Hamburg, Stockholm – from 12 to 17; Larnaca – three additional services in the Christmas period; Copenhagen – from 14 to 18; Minsk, Istanbul – from 4 to 5; Paris from 20 to 21, Prague – from 19 to 24; Riga, Sofia – from 7 to 10 and Tallinn – from 4 to 6.
LOT will be suspending six services in the upcoming season: Athens, Beirut, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Nice and Zurich.
As of January Wizz Air launches two new destinations from Warsaw: to Verona and Turin. On 29 March the airline will also expand its Warsaw fleet, adding a fifth Airbus A320 plane, which will allow Wizz to broaden its offer to include six new destinations: Dortmund (four weekly flights), Larnaca and Lisbon (two flights) and Alicante, Catania and Malta (one flight). In December the Hungarian carrier plans to resume a scheduled service to Grenoble, France.
Eurolot, a Polish regional airline, has been developing its Warsaw route network with quite a pace for some time now. On 26 October the carrier launched regular services to Stuttgart and Dusseldorf, Germany, Zagreb, Croatia and Kishinev, Moldavia, and on 27 October it started flying to the recently opened airport in Lublin.
One of the largest low-cost carriers in Europe, Norwegian, is developing its Warsaw network as well. After launching a service from Warsaw to Gatwick in September, the airline opened two more new destinations to Canary Islands – Gran Canaria on 28 October and Tenerife a day later.
