Until the end of 2013, Chopin Airport was served by low-cost airline Ryanair, which accounted for a significant share of its traffic. When comparing the first nine months of 2014 with the corresponding period last year, the figures included the temporary traffic growth generated by Ryanair in 2013. However, the comparison between October 2013, when the airline no longer flew from Warsaw, with the same month this year shows that despite the absence of Ryanair, passenger traffic at Chopin Airport is on the increase (up 8.5%). This illustrates how other air carriers have improved their services, pointing to Chopin Airport’s strong potential for growth.

In total, Chopin Airport has handled nearly 9.1 million passengers since the beginning of the year, including nearly 8.1 million on international flights (down 3.4%) and over one million domestically (up 8.3%). The overall number of aircraft movements grew by 3% in October and totalled 12,500.
