Fourth Consecutive Monthly Record at Chopin Airport

Chopin Airport handled over 689,000 passengers in January. This is the 4th consecutive monthly record in the history of Chopin Airport.

In the first month of this year 7.4% more passengers have been handled than in the same period last year and 2.14 per cent more comparing to January 2014. There is some value in taking into consideration that the record high results in the airport’s history have been noted also in  October, November and December of 2014.

“January confirms the tendency of the dynamic traffic growth in Warsaw. It is noticeable especially in the low-cost traffic, with a year-over-year increase of around 38%, as well as  in the charter traffic which recorded an increase of more than 23%”, said Radosław Paruzel, deputy director of Chopin Airport.

In the first month of 2015, Chopin Airport has served a total of over 614  million passengers in international traffic (up 10,3%) and over 75,500 domestically (down 11,7%). The overall number of aircraft movements in January grew by 11,1%, totalling 9,500.
