Airport Bratislava Handled 32 % More Passengers in 1Q 2015
In first 3 months 2015 (January, February, March 2015) Bratislava Airport handled together on scheduled and non-scheduled flights 215 419 passengers, which is 32 % increase in comparison to the same period last year. Three most popular destinations from/to Bratislava Airport were London-Stansted, Dublin and Milan-Bergamo in the first 3 months 2015.
„It is the best quarter since SkyEurope finished its operation on Bratislava Airport,” said Ivan Trhlik, Bratislava Airport CEO. „Already now we can say that our assumptions about an increase in passengers in 2015 are being fulfilled. In January, the passenger number increased at 26 % in comparison to January 2014 and in February and March 2015 increased the number of handled passengers at 36 % in comparison to February and March 2014, “said Trhlik.
The number of passengers handled on scheduled flights increased in 1Q at 25 % in comparison to previous year. Ryanair airline carried almost 40 % more passengers in comparison to 1Q 2014 and Czech Airlines carrier 5 % more passengers in comparison to 1Q 2014.
Three most popular destinations from/to Bratislava Airport were London-Stansted, Dublin and Milan-Bergamo in the first 3 months 2015.
There were an increase also in aircraft movements at Bratislava Airport. Air carriers made 4 212 aircraft movements in 1Q 2015 what is 9 % increase in comparison to the same period of last year.
