2015 was Succesful for Tartu Airport

tartu airportTartu Airport had a successful year in 2015, there was reached an all-time second result in the number of passengers – total pro year – 21,117 passengers. 20,708 of these passengers flew on regular flights on Helsinki – Tartu – Helsinki route. Compared to last year, the 2014, the growth of passenger numbers is 47.4%. Even more, 20,708 passengers on Helsinki – Tartu – Helsinki route is far more than were the airBaltic results in 2010, when on Riga – Tartu – Riga route flew 18 447 passengers pro year.

Already on December 18, there was achieved the magic number on the Helsinki-Tartu-Helsinki route, when airport manager greeted on board of Finnair flight from Tartu to Helsinki the 20 000th passenger of year 2015. It became a joyful surprise for a young Swedish lady, who was flying from Tartu via Helsinki to Mariehamn. She was donatedby small gift containing Finnair and Tartu airport emblematic souvenirs. All passengersof the departing flight were asked to taste the specially made for this event big cake, marked with number 20 000.

That good result was achieved thank to regular and punctual flying of the nationalFinnish airline Finnair (flies Helsinki – Tartu – Helsinki route from May 1, 2015.)Passengers from Tartu and Southern Estonia have found for themselves a favorable opportunity to start their planned international flights from closest point, from Tartu International Airport. One of Scandinavia’s biggest airlines – Finnair offers now for people from southern Estonia via Helsinki hub transfer flights to more than 70destinations, on four continents. Finnair continues to fly between Helsinki and Tartu seven days a week.
