Gulfstream Names Kevin Valik Sales Director For New Jersey And Delaware, John Neely III VIice President Of Law And Public Affairs

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has appointed Kevin Valik as a North American sales director in the company’s East Division. He reports to Jim Dobbins, vice president, North American Sales, East Division. Valik is responsible for sales to new and existing customers in Delaware and New Jersey and new customers in New York City. “We are excited to welcome Kevin to the Gulfstream team,” Dobbins said. “I know that he will be a great resource for our customers in New Jersey, Delaware and New York City.” Valik succeeds Howard Modjeski, who will retire at the end of the year after 23 years at Gulfstream. Most recently, Valik worked as a regional sales manager at Dassault Falcon Jet Corp., where he managed sales for eastern Canada and the mid-Atlantic and mid-Central regions of the United States. He began his business aviation career in 2001, when he joined Dassault as a service engineer. He graduated from The College of New Jersey in Ewing with a bachelor’s degree specializing in mechanical engineering.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. also recently named John “Jay” Neely III vice president, Law and Public Affairs. In his new role, Neely will head Gulfstream’s Legal department and will be responsible for state and local public affairs. He reports to Ira Berman, senior vice president, Administration and General Counsel. Neely came to Gulfstream in 1999 as assistant general counsel after serving in the Atlanta office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker, LLP. While at Gulfstream, Neely has served as legal counsel, supporting the company’s sales, supply chain, product support and other operations. He also held primary responsibility for Gulfstream’s intellectual property matters. Neely was promoted to deputy general counsel in 2004.

“Jay has been a leader in Gulfstream’s Legal department for nearly 15 years,” said Berman.  “Having interacted directly with suppliers and customers on an ongoing basis, he has a deep understanding of our constituents’ needs.  In his new role, he will advocate for the best public policies for our customers, suppliers and our business.

As vice president, Law and Public Affairs, Neely will be responsible for all attorneys and personnel in Gulfstream’s Legal department. His public affairs responsibilities will include designing and implementing programs to promote Gulfstream’s interests to state and local governments.

Neely earned his juris doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens and a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He is a board member with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Savannah Area Chamber and Leadership Georgia.  Neely also serves as president of the board for Leadership Savannah.
