Avia Invest recently called a group of members of EUACA association (the European Airport Coordinators Association) visited CIA at the request of the company’s administrator of Chisinau Airport. The mission of this organization is to deliver a neutral, non discriminatory and transparent service to the aviation industry in order to contribute to efficient solutions to optimize the use of capacity at airports based on fair competition.
The delegation was represented by Fred Andreas Winter – EUACA Chairman, Chief Operating Officer of the Coordinators Association of airports in Norway, Birgit Krenzin – EUACA Vice Chairman and coordinator of airports in Germany, Dimitar Tcholacov – facilitator schedules of Sofia Airport. During the meeting, the practices used by European Airports in planning and coordinating air traffic service were presented to operational personnel of Chisinau Airport. Therefore, after finishing the process of modernizing the terminal and airport infrastructure, the proposed recommendations will be applied so as to be strengthened the mechanism for allocation and use of slots for drawing flight schedule at the airport. As a result, implementation of proposals made by EUACA representatives will effectively ensure air traffic management and operational activities of the CIA. Similarly, uniform routes distribution during the day will significantly contribute to the efficient use of airport infrastructure and the queues will be avoided in the terminal.
“We are pleasantly surprised by the achievements obtained in such a short period of time as well as the development of airport infrastructure. You are moving fast in transforming the airport into a competitive and a modern one which corresponds to the most exacting European norms”, said Fred Andreas Winter – EUACA Chairman, Chief Operating Officer of the Coordinators Association of airports in Norway.
