ABS Jets receives Russian aircraft maintenance approval

By complying with requirements of the Russians aviation authorities, the Prague headquartered company is empowered to perform maintenance and other technical services the Russian registered Embraer Legacy 600 and Legacy 650, Phenom 300 and Phenom 100.

“We have implemented one of the most intensive and effective series of upgrades and improvements to our facilities resulting in the most state-of-the-art maintenance center. The demands of the Russian CAA are of the highest standards and we are delighted to have been able to work closely with them to fully meet their requirements and create such an MRO facility. Our position in the center of Europe means we are perfectly placed to handle the requirements of all our customers and offer them the ultimate in aircraft maintenance services,” comments Vladimir Petak, CEO and Member of the Board of ABS Jets. “It is again an opportunity to prove that ABS Jets values the relationship with all Russian aircraft owners and operators regardless whether their planes RA registered or not,” he added.

Embraer has a significant fleet of more than forty executive jets in Russia. In the past two years, ABS Jets has worked intensively on getting the new authority approvals. It positions the ABS Jets maintenance and service center as a key player for the Embraer Legacy support in the EMEA region.

“Our Technical Department can ensure prompt support in all Russian territories. However it is not new or unknown terrain to us,” says Thierry Barré, ABS Jets’ Technical Director. “Earlier this year Embraer Executive Jets and ABS Jets partnered up to provide technical services for all types of Embraer aircraft during the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.”

In this joint venture at the Olympic Games, ABS Jets also provided services to relief airfields in Krasnodar and Anapa. A select team was put on 24 hour call to provide technical support, enhancements were to the Embraer-owned spare parts stocks located both in Moscow and Prague and ABS Jets were on standby to fly in the necessary parts from Prague or Moscow.

The new certification to perform maintenance on Russian RA registered aircraft opening enables ABS Jets to further develop their strategic plan to consolidate their position as a European market leader and to offer a complete range of aircraft services for Business Aircraft.

ABS Jets is an EASA Part -145 approved maintenance organization and an Embraer Authorized Service Centre. The company currently has operational bases in Prague and Bratislava. The central and eastern European location of these facilities means that ABS Jets is geographically perfectly placed to handle flights from Russia, the CIS countries or the Middle East, which travel onwards throughout Europe. The high standards and number of services ABS Jets provides means that the company is a complete, one stop shop, accommodating all aspects of VIP and executive travel. ABS Jets fleet of aircraft currently comprises of 13 aircraft, including 6 Embraer Legacy 600s and 2 Embraer Legacy 650s. ABS Jets also provides a complete range of 24/7 trip planning and flight support services to a global customer base for any flights to and from Russia, the Middle East, and other international destinations through its Operation Control Center at its Headquarters in Prague. ABS jets currently employs over 200 highly qualified employees.
