Czech Sport Aircraft is pleased to announce the delivery of yet another EASA-certified PS-28 Cruiser to the United Kingdom. The delivery took place during a ceremony this evening at Czech Sport Aircraft’s production facility in Kunovice. The ex-factory demonstrator OK-LSA will now enter the UK register and into service with The Little Aeroplane Company.
Commenting during the delivery ceremony, Matthew Harvey, Co-Managing Director of Aviation Trading, the official authorised trading partner of Czech Sport Aircraft said, “OK-LSA can certainly tell a few stories and will always be fondly remembered in the recent history of Czech Sport Aircraft. It is a pleasure to be handing over the aircraft this evening to The Little Aeroplane Company and we recognise the opportunities that this purchase will provide. We applaud Kairos Aviation for the vision they have successfully implemented on the market and we will continue to see the UK fleet grow over the coming weeks. We are very pleased with the results so far.”
Speaking upon taking delivery of the aircraft in Kunovice, Hilton Belter, Managing Director of The Little Aeroplane Company, said, “The numbers speak overwhelmingly for themselves and it is very apparent that the PS-28 Cruiser offers something unique to the training market in Europe. Let’s also not forget that it has the important elements of design and ramp appeal to make the aircraft the complete package. We are delighted to be taking delivery of the aircraft today and we confirm that it will immediately be made available for rental, enabling yet more flight schools in the UK to access the perfect modern trainer.”
This aircraft enters into service once again as a result of the successful cooperation with the company’s national distributor for the United Kingdom, Kairos Aviation. After the hand-over last week of G-DTFT, this new delivery becomes the fifth PS-28 Cruiser to enter into service in the United Kingdom with more deliveries expected soon.
Peter Foggin, Managing Director of Kairos Aviaition, said, “Kairos Aviation is working closely with The Little Aeroplane Company to ensure as many flight schools as possible in the UK get the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits that are offered from a modern training aircraft like the PS-28 Cruiser. The success the aircraft is having since certification in 2012 is clear for all to see and we intend to make sure the UK becomes a reference point in Europe with a large fleet of aircraft operating in a flight training role. We are very pleased with the strong partnership and cooperation we have with both Czech Sport Aircraft and Aviation Trading and this gives us the confidence and platform we need to continue building for success in the UK.”
The PS-28 Cruiser is a double-seat aircraft of full metal construction. The aircraft is arranged as a low-wing mono-plane with cantilevered wings and conventional empennage. The PS-28 Cruiser is type certified by EASA for VFR Day operations according to the CS-LSA certification regulation and can be fully commercially operated in EASA countries or in countries where the PS-28 Cruiser obtained local CAA type certification.
Currently a total of over 500 PS-28 Cruiser and SportCruiser have been produced and delivered to customers throughout the world. Over 200 units of SportCruiser have been delivered to the USA and over 150 units of SportCruiser and PS-28 Cruiser combined have been delivered to Europe where the company enjoys significant sales success. Due to its robust construction, ease of maintenance and superior flight characteristics, the PS-28 Cruiser is the perfect platform for basic and advanced flight training, air clubs, basic military training, recreational use and air tourism.
The PS-38 Tourer is the first step in the evolution of the Czech Sport Aircraft product family based on the market-leading PS-28 Cruiser that has already firmly established itself as the benchmark new-generation aircraft for flight training in Europe. The aircraft was formally launched by Czech Sport Aircraft at the Aero Friedrichshafen 2014 exhibition. The PS-38 Tourer is a single engine, all-metal, high-wing monoplane of semi-monocoque structure with two side-by-side seats currently in development. Czech Sport Aircraft is evaluating type certification of the PS-38 Tourer according to either the CS-VLA or ELA 1 certification regulation in Europe and expects the aircraft to satisfy demand for a new-generation, cost-effective, multi-application high-wing solution for cross-country flying, air tourism and law enforcement operations.
Czech Sport Aircraft is located in Kunovice in the heart of the Czech aviation valley. From 1954 up to the present day several aircrafts have been designed, developed and manufactured in Kunovice. The company was formed based on almost 80 years of aviation pedigree and history. Czech Sport Aircraft is focused on the research, design, development and production of Light Sport Aircraft for basic and advanced flight training, basic military pilot training, general recreational use and air tourism.
