Bombardier Driving Safety Agenda with Industry-Leading Safety Standdown Program

bombardierBombardier Aerospace announced that its industry-leading Bombardier Safety Standdown Program has themed its 2014 activities around Attention Control for aviation professionals. Distraction is an increasingly significant risk to aviation safety that permeates every aspect of aircraft operation. Safety Standdown and its network of experts will address this issue by providing global aviation professionals with proven Attention Control Techniques that will help keep focus on the safety of passengers and crew.

“Aviation professionals are not immune to the distractions of everyday life – professional pressures, personal life and increased use of technology,” said Pat Daily, President at Convergent Performance, Safety Standdown Presenter and Attention Control Expert. “Attention is a valuable commodity, and where aviation professionals focus that attention is critical to safety. This year we will provide the tools to help professionals identify where their attentions should be focused,” he added.

“For 18 years, we have been committed to provide human factors training to the entire industry through the Bombardier Safety Standdown Program,” said Éric Martel, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “I am confident this year’s theme will have a positive impact on the Safety Standdown community and on aviation safety as a whole,” he added.

Safety Standdown will hold seminars in Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 11 and in Wichita, Kansas on October 6-9; its online resources and social media content will ensure the conversation on Attention Control Techniques continues throughout the year.
