“This day, the 10th of March, Boryspil International Airport, fulfilling its obligations towards the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine on time, has transferred 115.7 million of hryvnias to the Treasury of Ukraine for the first repayment of the loan of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).”
The loan agreement for the development project of Boryspil International Airport (the construction of Terminal D Complex) was concluded between Japan Bank for International Cooperation and the Cabinet of Ministry of Ukraine on the 29th of March, 2005.
19.09 billion of Japanese yens loan which is equal to 3.64 billion of hryvnias according to the current course was extended to the airport within 2006-2012 with the repayment period from 2015 until 2035.
The development project of Terminal Complex embodied the building of the Terminal, apron, connecting taxiways, access multi-level road and the objects of engineering infrastructure.
The construction activities were endured from 2008 until 2012.
Terminal D of Boryspil International Airport is the largest and the highest capacity one in our country, its total area is 107 050 sq. km. There are 60 check-in desks, 18 aviation security desks and 28 passport control points in the air Terminal Complex.
Domestic flights area was commissioned in Terminal D Complex on the 21st of November, 2014. This has let to improve the standards of service and it has also ensured the efficient service for transfer passengers. Moreover, it has created the necessary conditions for the implementation of hub model of Boryspil International Airport development. New 3320 sq. km domestic flights area is located on the second floor of the Terminal and it is equipped with 15 check-in desks, 18 security desks and 6 gates. Capacity of this area is 1800 passengers per hour both for departures and arrivals.
