Charlie Bodnar, CEO of EURO Jet

How much business that your jet services conduct in central Europe?

Euro Jet is a ground support agent in Central and Eastern Europe. We support the ground operation of over 6,000 flights in this region during a calendar year.

What changes would you like to see when doing business in central Europe?

We hope that airport authorities will continue to value the importance of general aviation as we find in many locations that commercial flights are always the top priority. The value of a private flight going into Central Europe needs to be seen as a huge stepping stone to economic growth. More funding for General Aviation Terminals is another item that would only help to increase the volume of flights into Central Europe. Anyone coming in on a private jet is coming in for reasons related to economic growth, and it is likely they will spend money and invest in that specific location. We need to encourage them coming in and have the appropriate facilities in place.

What is your opinion on predictions of future growth in the region?

The future growth is only going to continue. Every year, Euro Jet has had steady growth in the region, never having a year with negative growth. The largest growth sector has been more and more tourism, especially in the Balkan countries. We have seen a huge spike in tourism especially in Tivat, Montenegro and different cities in Croatia have steadily delivered consistent results each year. Manufacturing, especially in the auto industry has also lead to strong traffic in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.
