“Customers are pleased that FlightSafety will offer training for the Bombardier Challenger 350 and add another Challenger 605 training location,” said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO. “FlightSafety has the experience and capability to introduce new programs and full flight simulators that enhance safety and provide the highest quality training at conveniently located Learning Centers.”
The new Challenger 350 program will begin in the spring of 2014 followed by the Challenger 605 in the fall. FlightSafety will design and manufacture new simulators and other advanced training devices for both aircraft. The simulators will be qualified to Level D, and feature FlightSafety’s latest advances in technology including the recently announced VITAL 1100 visual system. VITAL 1100 offers unprecedented fidelity with computational performance that is up to five times greater than that of its predecessor. This significantly enhances training by providing mission-specific imagery with vastly improved scene content and unprecedented levels of detail.
Hundreds of millions of scene elements are processed every second and presented along with environmental effects, dynamic shadowing and enhanced shading effects. This adds a new dimension to the training environment by providing aircrews with extremely valuable cues and added realism.
Pilots who train with FlightSafety also benefit from the new Operational DayFlow training methodology. This innovative, highly customized method of training transforms ground school by presenting critical procedures and tasks according to phase of flight. The Columbus Learning Center currently offers eight full flight simulators. They are used to provide training for the Bombardier Global 6000, Cessna Citation XL, Citation Sovereign, Citation XLS, Citation X, Dassault Falcon 2000, and Hawker 900XP.
