IDAIR Awarded a BBJ 737 IFE & CMS installation by BizJet International

idair_mood_newsIDAIR’s close relationship with Lufthansa Technik’s VIP & Executive Jet Solutions continues with the award of a BBJ 737 at BizJet International. BizJet International chose IDAIR’s In-Flight Entertainment and Cabin Management System following a detailed review of available system offerings, finding IDAIR to provide the most innovative integrated solution.

The installation will include an on-board Ethernet network (wired and wireless) with Gigabit bandwidth to each seat, a Wireless Access Point 802.11ac 1.3Gb and a wireless remote system control as well as encoded and distributed third party video interfaces (USB and HDMI) to allow absolute freedom to integrate products from external suppliers such as satellite Internet, satellite telephone/fax or external cameras.

Additional features will be multiple independent surround and stereo sound audio zones with trim panel speaker technology, a Media Center providing Blu-ray, a 3D moving map server, and Audio and Video on Demand (AVoD) server functionality along with 4.3” and 10” Touchscreen Control Panels and High Definition LED backlit LCD monitors. The system will be delivered with a unique, intuitive user interface for simplicity of use.

IDAIR ensures system reliability and assures continuous improvement of the In-Flight Entertainment and Cabin Management System via Highly Accelerated Life Tests (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screenings (HASS) and provides global support for its systems.

IDAIR continues to closely work with Lufthansa Technik’s VIP & Executive Jet Solutions after already delivering systems to an A320 and a BBJ 737. Both were installed with IDAIR’s In-Flight Entertainment and Cabin Management Systems including features such as 62” and 42” high definition cabin displays, Blu-ray players, touch screen cabin controls, surround sound and much more.  The installation on the BBJ 737 also included IDAIR’s mobile GSM telephony system.

BizJet International´s capabilities now include the Airbus corporate jets – ACJ318, ACJ319, ACJ320 and ACJ321 – as well as the A320 family and the Boeing 737 BBJ. The VIP specialist is also one of only two companies outside the Rolls-Royce Group to operate a center for the overhaul of Rolls-Royce Tay and Spey engines. Founded in 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, the company quickly established a name for itself worldwide by selectively focusing on VIP and business aircraft and on Rolls-Royce engines in the medium thrust bracket. Since 2000 BizJet International has been a fully owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG.

Established in April 2011, IDAIR is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG and Panasonic Avionics Corporation, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. IDAIR develops, manufactures and supplies In-Flight Entertainment, Communications and Cabin Management Systems for VIP aircraft as well as custom products for commercial airlines.
