Jet Aviation announces the appointment of Hardy Bütschi as the new vice president and general manager of the company’s maintenance and FBO operations in Dubai, effective January 2014.
In his new role as vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation Dubai, Bütschi is responsible for overseeing the company’s maintenance and FBO operations at Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International Airport, as well as at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Previously, Bütschi oversaw the company’s operations in Saudi Arabia as vice president of Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia. He will continue to report to Stefan Benz, vice president of MRO and FBO Operations in EMEA & Asia. The company plans to announce a successor for Bütschi in Saudi Arabia in the near future.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the aviation industry and almost 10 years with Jet Aviation, Bütschi has considerable experience in sales and marketing, customer support and facility management. He joined Jet Aviation Geneva in 2004 as director of sales and deputy director of customer support, transferring to Jet Aviation Dubai in 2007 to help promote the company’s services throughout the Middle East region. When the company opened its new facility in Jeddah in 2011, Bütschi was appointed vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia, where he successfully secured the GACA bid for the company’s FBO & hangar facilities in Riyadh and further expanded operations to Prince Mohammad Airport in Medina in 2012. He holds a master’s of science degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.
“Jet Aviation Dubai has an outstanding team of dedicated employees,” says Benz. “Coupled with Hardy’s innovative ability to provide improved customer-focused service, I am confident in the team’s ability to continue anticipating customer requirements to ultimately surpass their expectations.”
