LOT’s first plane took off from Ljubljana to Warsaw inaugurating a new route. From now on, the passengers travelling from Ljubljana via Warsa hub are provided with convenient transfers to attractive destinations in Europe and North America six times per week. Inaugural flight was accompanied by a symbolic cutting of the ribbon, cake pops for the first passengers and a water salute from the airport’s firefighting vehicles.
Newly opened Ljubljana – Warsaw direct route provides passengers with the most convenient offer in this part of Europe. Passengers need as little as 30 minutes of transfer time via Warsaw modern hub to continue their journey to European destinations such as Copenhagen, Stockholm or Vilnius. From now on, LOT provides the passengers travelling from Ljubljana with only 1 hour and 15 minutes transfer time to North America.
LOT operates flights from Warsaw to Ljubljana six times a week. Departure from Warsaw is scheduled at 11:10 a.m. and the arrival to Ljubljana at 1.00 p.m. The return flight from Ljubljana is scheduled at 1:35 p.m. and the arrival in Warsaw at 3:35 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. With such a schedule LOT’s clients can benefit from LOT’s afternoon departures to New York, Toronto and Chicago. On Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays the schedule provides with departure at 2:40 p.m. from Warsaw and arrival at 4:30 p.m. to Ljubljana. The return flight from Ljubljana is scheduled on 5:05 p.m. to arrive at 7:05 p.m. in Warsaw. These flights serve a great connection for weekends away.
Aerodrom Ljubljana welcomes the new service. Mr. Janez Krašnja, Head of Airline Management at Aerodrom Ljubljana gave the following statement: “It is expected that this service will generate around 30,000 extra passengers on a yearly basis. LOT will significantly enhance the offer of flights from our airport. Because of its excellent network Ljubljana Airport is even closer to many European destinations and North America. LOT is improving the competitiveness of our airport, since the demand for flights to several destinations in their network and to the cities such as New York or Chicago, is big.”
“By opening this route we are convinced to provide our customers with a high quality service and the best connectivity to worldwide destinations via this part of Europe” – says Mr. Adrian Kubicki, Corporate Communication Office Executive Director and Spokesperson at LOT. “For example, a flight from Ljubljana to Copenhagen via Warsaw takes just 4 hours in total. With LOT passengers flying from Ljubljana will also be able to visit many Polish cities, such as Gdansk, Krakow, Rzeszow, Szczecin, Poznan, Wroclaw or Katowice and explore more of that beautiful Polish folklore” – Kubicki adds.
Representatives of LOT and Aerodrom Ljubljana opened new route between Slovenian and Polish capital with a symbolic ribbon cutting in the passenger terminal. Before departure they addressed the passengers of the first flight and wished them a safe journey. All first passengers were surprised with a cake-pop in the colours of the carrier.
At the occasion of a new connection Aerodrom Ljubljana and LOT are preparing a prize winning game for Aerodrom’s community on Facebook. With a little knowledge community fans can compete for a free return flight ticket from Ljubljana to Warsaw for two persons and for some other attractive prizes. Aerodrom’s community on Facebook, which is considered the most popular social network in Slovenia, counts close to 37,000 friends, interested in the world of aviation.
