Moscow Domodedovo Airport is participating in the Routes Silk Road 2014, which brought together about 300 delegates – representatives from over 35 airlines and 45 airports – in the Georgian capital. In the context of the aviation forum, several hundred pre-approved meetings and presentations by two dozen reputable professionals in the field of air transportation are held.
Routes Silk Road is held for the first time: until 2014, the aviation forum was known as Routes CIS. The event centralizes the aviation potential of the countries of the CIS, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia, as an effective platform for stimulating new airline trends and air services development.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport annually participates in the largest industry events: within the framework of such meetings, experts of the leading air hub of Russia hold talks with delegates of international airlines, airports and tourism organizations, consider possible ways for cooperation with potential partners in the context of opening of new and unique destinations. Moreover, market participants are interested in technologies and business model of Moscow Domodedovo Airport: the airport experts share their experience in developing the airport complex with peer organizations.
Currently, Moscow Domodedovo Airport, together with partner airlines, offer more than fifty travelling destinations to neighboring countries: so, during the first six months of 2014 more than 2.3 million people preferred the largest air hub of the country to fly to former Soviet states. The airport is actively developing the air transportation capacity of both international and domestic destinations giving travelers ample opportunities for flying around the world. As of early July 2014, 87 airlines operate flights to 242 domestic and international destinations from Moscow Domodedovo Airport, 88 out of which are unique for the Moscow Air Hub.
