The A330-200F is proving its capabilities as the most modern mid-size freighter in service today, providing highly reliable service with eight operators: Avianca Cargo, Etihad Cargo, Hong Kong Airlines, MASkargo, MNG Airlines, Qatar Airways, Turkish Cargo and Yangtze River Express.
The fleet is operating at a 99.5 dispatch reliability rate in its use across both major and emerging markets, with some of the aircraft logging more than 400 flight hours each in peak months. Payloads have ranged from live animals, perishables and fashion goods to luxury cars and such outsized loads as 8.5-meter-long metal bars.
“Every day, the A330-200F demonstrates how it successfully fills a gap in the middle of the cargo market, offering the same unit costs as larger aircraft at much lower risk,” explained Cyrille Picard, Airbus’ Freighter Marketing Manager “We are proving that the ‘large size fits all’ air cargo model no longer works, as the A330-200F is delivering on its promise of high market coverage with flexibility on routes from short-haul to longer-range – all with high reliability and low operational costs.”
As part of Airbus’ participation in this week’s Dubai Airshow, a Qatar Airways A330-200F is included on the static display line at Dubai World Central, where its loading capacity is being demonstrated.
