Qatar Airways Concludes Singapore Airshow 2016 On A High Note

Qatar Airways concluded its successful showcase of the world’s latest technology aircraft at this year’s Singapore Airshow, delivering its trademark hospitality and service to hundreds of officials, executives and fellow members of the aviation industry on board the three aircraft flown in especially for the Airshow – the Airbus A350 and A380, as well as the Gulfstream G650ER.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, welcomed Mr. Pang Kin Keong, the permanent secretary for Singapore’s Ministry of Transport, other senior officials, trade partners and members of the press on board the three latest-generation aircraft.

H.E. Mr. Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways was proud to be a central part of this year’s Singapore Airshow, one of aviation’s greatest gatherings. As we continue to induct more new aircraft into our growing fleet, at the rate of one new plane every 10 days in 2016, events such as the Singapore Airshow allow us to showcase the best and finest of our fleet. Qatar Airways has seen the Singapore Airshow grow over the years and our enhanced presence at the Airshow this year demonstrates the region’s importance to Qatar Airways.

With bespoke, highly-customised interiors, Qatar Airways’ varied aircraft display drew crowds to see the latest additions to the airline’s fast-expanding fleet, notably the A350 and the A380.

The A350, for which Qatar Airways celebrated its one year anniversary of operations as the global launch customer just last month, now flies triple-daily to Singapore, double-daily to Frankfurt and Munich and daily to Philadelphia. It will also soon serve New York City as the second daily flight, and will serve Boston and Adelaide as the airline inaugurates those cities in 2016. The Business Class cabin features 36 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration featuring an 80-inch full flat bed and 17-inch HD in-flight entertainment screen and a spacious in-flight bar. Economy Class features 247 18-inch wide seats in a 3-3-3 configuration, each with a 10.6-inch in-flight entertainment screen, and more space at shoulder level for passengers in window seats due to the vertical side wall panel design.

The 517-seat superjumbo A380 aircraft comprising of First, Business and Economy Class over two decks is the largest passenger jet in the world, and currently flies to Bangkok, Paris and London from Doha in the State of Qatar. The A380 First Class features a seat with a 90-inch pitch that transforms into a fully-flat bed and has up to 2,000 entertainment options displayed on individual HD 26-inch television screens.

Visitors to the Singapore Airshow also had the opportunity to view and tour the latest addition to the Qatar Executive fleet – the Gulfstream G650ER. The world’s largest and fastest business jet, the G650ER can accommodate up to 13 passengers comfortably. The aircraft can fly non-stop from destinations in Asia to Africa and is perfectly suited for those whose travel needs include flying halfway around the globe.

Qatar Executive is the private jet division of the Qatar Airways Group, and is the leading provider of jet aircraft charter services together with premier aircraft management, maintenance and handling services in the Middle East and around the world.
