Paul Johannes, VP Commerical Europe accepting the Best Business Class Award on behalf of Qatar Airways at the Business Traveller Awards 2013.
Qatar Airways has been named as “Best Business Class” at the high profile Business Traveller Awards 2013 (UK edition), which was held in London at The Royal Garden Hotel, on 15th October.
The Business Traveller Awards are based on votes by readers of the magazine with the results authenticated by an independent auditing company and are widely recognised as the market’s benchmark for excellence. Readers based their voting on the strength of the airline’s customer service, its route network and services.
Paul Johannes, Qatar Airways’ Vice President Commercial North, South and Western Europe, said “We are pleased to have been recognised by our passengers for our high-quality business class product. It is an honour to win this category against such strong competition and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us.”
“This award reiterates Qatar Airways commitment to providing excellent customer service and prominence as one of the world’s leading airlines for both business and leisure travellers. Over the next few months, and with our joining of the oneworld alliance, we look forward to expanding our international network of over 130 destinations giving our customers increased options when they travel.”
Qatar Airways was also recently named Best Middle East Airline by readers of Business Traveller Asia-Pacific. The Doha-based carrier was recognised for the fourth consecutive year at the high-profile 22nd Annual Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards, held less than three weeks ago in Hong Kong.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 16 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 129 aircraft to 133 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas.
So far in 2013, Qatar Airways has launched ten destinations to date – Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Najaf (Iraq), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Chicago (USA), Salalah (Oman), Basra (Iraq), Sulaymaniyah (Iraq), Chengdu (China), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Ta’if (Saudi Arabia) and most recently Clark International Airport (Philippines).
Over the next few months, the network will grow further with Sharjah, UAE (March 1, 2014), Dubai World Central, UAE (March 1, 2014), Philadelphia, USA (April 2, 2014) and Miami, USA (10 June 2014).
