Russian Helicopters to Showcase New Maintenance Equipment at NAIS&CA 2015
Russian Helicopters showcased the latest equipment for aircraft maintenance bases and service centres at the 2nd National Airport Infrastructure Show and Civil Aviation, held in Moscow at Crocus Expo from 10 to 12 February.
Russian Helicopters currently offers its clients a modern after-sale support service, built on the principle of integrated logistics support for the full-life cycle of the helicopter. “According to Russian Helicopters’ data, there are currently about 8,700 Russian-made helicopters in operation in over 100 countries worldwide. One of the company’s key priorities is to ensure all its clients enjoy reliable, accessible, after-sales maintenance support,” said Yury Borisov, Russian Helicopters Deputy CEO for Servicing. “Russian Helicopters expands its capacities in this area year-on-year. For example, in 2014, the company launched a specialised internet siteselling helicopter components, significantly streamlining the process of ordering aircraft components and spare parts for Russian-made helicopters.”
Helicopter Service Company, part of Russian Helicopters, plays the lead role in developing global after-sales service systems. Last year, the company took over five aircraft repair plants in different Russian regions, which were formerly owned by the Ministry of Defence. They will strengthen the business’ service capacity and play a significant role in the further development of high-tech maintenance support systems.
In October 2014, with the support of State Corporation Rostec, Russian Helicopters was granted the right to engage in external trade activity involving products for military use – opening up new opportunities to develop maintenance and after-sales support systems. Now the company can export spare parts, components and technical documentation for military helicopters already delivered, carry out the full range of work (technical maintenance, repair, modernisation), establish joint ventures with international customers and re-tool facilities located abroad that provide comprehensive helicopter maintenance services, in addition to training international specialists.
Russian Helicopters will continue to develop its global network, ensuring it meets the very highest modern international standards. In 2017, a service centre for Mi-8/17 helicopters will open in Egypt, in 2016 – a service centre for the Mi-35M in Brazil, for the Mi-171Sh in Peru, and in 2018 work to re-tool an aircraft repair plant in India that repairs Mi-17V-5 helicopters will be completed.
At NAIS&CA 2015, Russian Helicopters specialists will hold talks with their partners in helicopter maintenance and repair to discuss the further development of the after-sales support systems offered by Russian Helicopters. The exhibition will feature equipment from Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant and the partner company St Petersburg Aircraft Repair Company (SPARC).
NAIS&CA 2015 is marking Civil Aviation Day, and is dedicated to infrastructure development for airports, airfields, helicopter landing sites, and civil aviation in Russia and across the CIS. NAIS&CA participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the latest technologies for, and advanced approaches to, operational support for helicopters.
