Sheremetyevo Airport Announces the Sale of Vladivostok International Airport’s Shares

shere1JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport (JSC MASH) is invited to take part in a bid for the takeover of JSC Vladivostok International Airport (JSC MAV) and CJSC Terminal Vladivostok shares, as well as for the acquisition of rights (claims) on loan agreements.

The following is to be put up for sale: 52.16% of the shares of JSC MAV, 74.99% of the shares of CJSC Terminal Vladivostok, as well as all rights (claims) on loan agreements provided to JSC MASH by CJSC Terminal Vladivostok.

First Infrastructure Company (InfraONE), which had earlier formulated the Moscow air hub’s development strategy, is acting agent to organize and hold the bidding procedure.

Prospective purchasers can show an interest to take part in the bidding procedure, giving their final offers by October 31st, 2014. An invitation to take part in this procedure is available on the official website of JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport.

The takeover of the shares of JSC MAV and CJSC Terminal Vladivostok are carried out as part of a program for the disposal of the core and non-core assets of JSC MASH, developed in accordance with instruction from the Chairman of the RF Government and the orders of the President of the Russian Federation.Vladivostok International Airport is the most important element of transport infrastructure of the Far East of the Russian Federation. Reconstruction of the airport became one of the major steps towards the preparation of the Territory of Primorye for the APEC CEO Summit 2012.

The airport’s reconstruction was carried out in accordance with the Federal Targeted Program “Economic and Social Development of the Far East and Trans-Baikal for a period up to 2013“(with the sub-program “Development of Vladivostok as a center of international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region”).

In 2008, by the Decree of the President of the RF, 52.2% of the shares of JSC Vladivostok International Airport are transferred to the management of JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport, which acted as the main investor of the new terminal construction at Vladivostok Airport. Vnesheconombank was the co-investor of the construction. The construction of the new international terminal started in August of 2009. A test flight was carried out on June 1st, 2012. The total area of the terminal complex equals 47.5 thousand m2, the area of the airport’s adjacent territory equals 40 thousand m2. There is an access to the Aeroexpress railway station from the terminal building. The terminal complex capacity accommodates 1,360 people per hour or 3.5 million people per year.

According to results from2013, Vladivostok Airport rendered services to 1 million 853 thousand passengers, which is 14% higher than compared with 2012.

Three floors of the terminal are comprised in lounges, transfer areas, VIP-lounges, nurseries, First Aid units, airlines representatives’ offices, and facilities for cooperating service structures.

shere2The materials, technologies (including energy-saving technologies), and equipment used during the reconstruction comply with all international standards. During the construction, the terminal complex was equipped with cutting-edge security systems, check-in systems, and automated baggage sorting and scanning systems. The baggage system is designed for the handling and checking of 2,700 baggage items per hour. The terminal is equipped with terminal passages, 4 boarding bridges, and escalators, providing convenient conditions for passengers and guests.

The development of the Vladivostok Airport has had a considerable social and economic effect, increasing international air transportation market competition and reducing of international airlines’ tariffs from Vladivostok. This, facilitates the growth of both direct and transfer passenger traffic, increases the growth rate of the route network, and encourages the availability of air transportation.

The development of Vladivostok Airport as a major regional and international airport catalyzes the economic development of Vladivostok and the Territory of Primorye, while positively influencing the availability of air transportation services, the mobility of the region’s population, the development of infrastructure, the formation of new jobs, and the improvement of quality of life as a whole.
