Sheremetyevo Airport confirms the compliance of its Aviation Safety level with international and American standards

The level of aviation safety measures applied and safety assurance given to flights departing for the United States was checked at Sheremetyevo International Airport.

As part of a joint visit, experts from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration and the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation familiarized themselves with the existing aviation safety management system, including the procedures of the pre-flight inspection of passengers, flight crew, personnel, cargo, mail, and flight catering, as well as with aviation safety assurance measures applied to flights from Aeroflot, Delta Airlines, and AirBridgeCargo operating from to Sheremetyevo International Airport to the United States.

Compliance measures were carried out in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation and the Transportation Security Administration of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security related to cooperation in the area of civil aviation safety.

According to results from the assessment, the committee determined that the Sheremetyevo International Airport’s aviation safety measures applied to air-carriers operating flights to the United States are sufficient and comply with requirements of the standards specified by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.
