Why Should Everyone Outsource Ground Handling

810 16 04 2014_Baltic Aviation Academy Took New Approach on AB Inition TrainingAviation industry is exceptionally based on training: initial training, recurrent training, advanced training and many other. As a part of aviation world, Ground Handling is also heavily based on training due to the sensitive nature of the job. If there are so many requirements, it means there is a liable reason behind it and it should not be taken lightly. Therefore, receiving professional instructions from people who are trained to do so is the best investment that company can make.

There are five basic reasons we would like to discuss as of why every Ground Handling company should consider outsourcing the personnel training:

  • People who are competent in their field aren’t always the best teachers. We know that John that has worked at your company for 20 years know a whole lot about Ramp Agent work, but is he a good teacher? Can he patiently and vividly transfer the information for the newbies and have the competence to thoroughly check their knowledge during the exam?
  • Airlines focus on flying, MRO companies focus on maintenance, and Ground Handling companies should focus on providing excellent services. Every company in aviation has a purpose that it must focus on and strive to perform in the best possible way. Just like the purpose of Ground Handling company is to provide fast, safe and efficient aircraft service, aviation training organization’s purpose is to train the personnel for each of these companies! Let everyone do the job they are good at!
  • Outside experience is always better than the same old same old. Having the same instructor always train the new staff means that same old habits and very likely incorrect procedures are passed on to new people, and it does not improve the performance. Bringing in a fresh breath of air into your training means that outside experience, skills and knowledge will supplement your staff’s work habits. And professional training ensures positive changes and improved work quality.
  • Mistakes and ways to improve are better seen by people outside the organization. New pair of eyes inside the long functioning process might catch minor or even major discrepancies that could be causing process slow down, or expensive mistakes and accidents. A chance to have a professional examine inner company processes and point out the areas that require attention should be a welcomed change!
  • Certified training center + quality teaching methods + certificates of completion = respectful and valued company and its employees. Having outside training organization provide training for the Ground Handling company, means that every employee who participated, receives completion certificate. Certified employees are more competent and feel obligated to live up to the expectations, therefore company is in a win-win situation: self-motivated employees and fully certified company.

There is a number of other reasons why outsourcing the training for qualified and professional instructors is extremely beneficial for the company morale, correct and efficient process implementation, bad habit correction and new skill development.
